Alpha Track — Enterprise GPS Fleet Management System
Alpha Track is a production-grade GPS tracking platform built on Laravel 8, serving fleet operators managing hundreds of vehicles simultaneously. The system processes real-time GPS data through a multi-database architecture integrating with Traccar server, supporting 200+ GPS device protocols. With 287 database migrations, 109 entity models, 50+ service classes, and 80+ controllers, this is a full-scale enterprise system.
The Challenge
Fleet operators needed a unified platform to track hundreds of vehicles in real-time across multiple cities, with instant alerts for geofence violations, speeding, fuel theft, and maintenance scheduling — all while supporting diverse GPS hardware from different manufacturers.
Our Solution
We engineered a multi-tenant, real-time tracking platform with a dual-database architecture — one for application logic and one for GPS data processing via Traccar integration. The system uses Socket.io and Redis pub/sub for live position updates, supports 200+ GPS protocols, and includes comprehensive geofencing with polygon, circle, and route-based boundaries.

Alpha Track evolved over five years of continuous engineering, from a single-protocol tracker to a 200+ protocol fleet platform. Major architecture rewrites happened in 2020 and 2023.
Alpha Track was built by a small core engineering team, supported by QA and DevOps. Our lead engineer progressed from Junior to Senior Software Engineer across the project's lifecycle.
Alpha Track runs on Laravel 8, MySQL, Redis, and Socket.io for real-time updates. The GPS protocol decoder layer is written in C# / .NET, and the dashboard uses React with Laravel APIs.
Each GPS protocol has its own decoder module written against a shared interface. Incoming TCP/UDP packets are routed to the correct decoder, normalized into a common event schema, and dispatched over WebSockets.
The platform tracks 500+ vehicles in real time across multiple cities, handles hundreds of events per second during peak hours, and has processed hundreds of millions of GPS records since launch.
